I’ve been watching a lot of these short animated story recaps lately and I’ve noticed a disturbing trend. Why is every moral lesson delivered in the most traumatizing way possible? "Oh, you didn't share your toy? Now a tiger is going to eat your entire family tree." It’s like the writers are low-key sociopaths who enjoy seeing cute 2D characters suffer for the sake of a "moral." Is there an actual storytelling reason for this extreme edge, or are we all just collectively into watching animated misery for the plot?
