While it is true that "almost" highlights do not contribute to the scoreboard, from a technical perspective, Morant’s verticality and hang time create a unique gravity on the court. When a player possesses that level of explosive athleticism, it forces the defense to over-rotate, which often opens up the perimeter for his teammates. The clip with Kevin Love is a perfect example of how even a missed attempt can fundamentally disrupt a veteran's defensive positioning. It would be interesting to see a deep dive into how his missed attempts correlate with team offensive rebounding efficiency
