Be honest: are we actually "creating" anything anymore, or are we just prompt-monkeys feeding a machine until it barfs out something that looks halfway decent? I’m looking to get into VFX and AR, but I’m worried that by the time I actually learn how to mask a frame properly or understand light physics, some AI will be able to render a full 4K sequence just by me whispering "skibidi" into a microphone.
Does it even make sense to spend thousands of hours learning traditional keyframing and particle simulations anymore, or should I just give up and accept our new robot overlords who still can't even count the correct number of fingers on a hand? Is there any actual soul left in CG/VFX, or are we all just destined to become curators of digital slop? I'd love to hear if anyone is actually finding a balance between manual skill and clicking the "make magic" button
Is AI "art" just glorified tracing for the lazy?
