Why do top athletes still use the "swish and spit" method?
I was looking at how professional players handle hydration mid-match, and the whole mouth-rinsing thing is so weird to me. Apparently, it's meant to trick the brain into thinking the body is hydrated without actually putting water in the stomach and causing bloat. Does anyone know if there’s a limit to how long that actually works before your body just crashes? It feels like one of those strange physiological "cheats" that shouldn't be possible. What do you think—is it actually a game-changer or just a mental ritual? Anyone else know other weird ways people manipulate their biology like this?
