Looking for old-school baseball docs (pre-sabermetrics)
I’ve been watching a lot of recent highlights lately, but man, I really miss the grittiness of 90s and early 2000s baseball. Everything feels so clinical now with the pitch clocks, shift bans, and constant exit velocity stats. I’m looking for recommendations for books or documentaries that capture that specific era—the chaos, the massive home runs, and that raw energy before everything became about "launch angles." I’ve already seen the Ken Burns series, but I need something that feels more like the "steroid era" madness. What are you guys reading or watching to keep that old-school baseball spirit alive during the off-days?
