I’ve been thinking about how much the transition into the outside world must have changed over the last 20 years. Back in the day, Rumspringa was about experiencing things like cars or different clothes, but now that the world is completely digital, it feels like a much bigger leap. Does anyone know how communities are dealing with the influence of smartphones and the internet during that period? I wonder if it’s becoming harder for people to choose to go back to the traditional way of life when the gap between the two worlds is getting so wide.
