Okay, let's get controversial. You know those "iconic, powerful" movie scenes that supposedly give you chills or make you tear up? I'm calling it: 90% of the heavy lifting is done by the soundtrack.

Seriously, take away that sweeping orchestral score or the melancholic piano, and what do you have? Just actors making faces, maybe delivering some clunky dialogue, or staring meaningfully into the middle distance. Without Hans Zimmer or a perfectly timed pop song, most of those "deep" moments would just be... scenes. We're all just Pavlov's dogs reacting to the sound cues. Discuss. Or don't.
