Remember wild game mechanics?
Anyone else remember those absolute fever dream game mechanics from older PC games or even early PS2/Xbox era titles? Like, the ones that were clearly experimental or just utterly broken, but somehow made the game memorable? I'm talking about stuff like unique (and often clunky) inventory systems, physics engines that did whatever they wanted, or QTEs that were just a week away from being completely unplayable. Sometimes you'd get a gem, but other times it was pure torment nexus trying to figure out what the dev was thinking lol. What are some of your favorite or most baffling forgotten game mechanics that you wish (or don't wish) would make a comeback?
