Remember back in the day, when we were just getting our heads around basic ETL and building out those first dashboards with tools like SAP BusinessObjects? It felt like we were making massive strides with clear, tangible goals. Now, with all the talk of AI, machine learning, and every micro-service under the sun for cloud data migration, I sometimes feel like we're over-engineering things. Are we truly solving core business problems more efficiently, or just adding layers of complexity and new buzzwords to what were once simpler challenges? Sometimes I miss the straightforward approach. What do you guys think? Is all this "new" tech always an improvement, or just a different flavor of the same old problems?
