Are music videos becoming too cinematic?
Anyone else noticed how much more theatrical pop music videos are getting lately? I feel like we’re moving away from just "standing in front of a cool background" and more into full-blown short films with actual plots, character arcs, and high production value. Do you guys actually prefer when an artist goes all out with a "whimsical" or "cinematic" vibe, or do you miss the simplicity of old-school performance videos? It feels like every new release now needs a 10-minute director's cut just to tell a story. What do you think is the best example of a "visual album" style video that actually worked?
