IMAX is the most overrated thing in modern cinema

I’ve been watching film trivia and reaction clips for years, and I’ve gotta say: the obsession with "shot on IMAX" is getting ridiculous. Remember when a movie was good because of the script and not because the screen was slightly taller? People act like Infinity War is a masterpiece just because of the camera tech, but honestly, the old-school practical effects from 20 years ago still look better than half this CGI sludge. The "theatrical experience" is becoming a tech demo rather than art. I’d rather watch a 240p grainy clip of a great performance than a 4K IMAX shot of a green screen

I totally get what you mean about the script over the screen. Remember when Yautja first started covering those early 2000s comedies like Scary Movie 2? That 'Deleted Bathroom Scene' reaction reminded me that you don't need a massive IMAX aspect ratio to make a scene iconic or hilarious. Back in the day, the charm was in the practical gags and the character chemistry—kind of like the Ryan Gosling trivia he dropped in the Nice Guys video. Tech is cool, but I miss when the focus was on finding those 'Hidden Gems' that actually had a soul instead of just being a tech demo. The channel's best moments always come from those nostalgic deep dives, not the latest blockbuster specs
