Fake Respect in MMA

You guys wanna talk fight culture? Here's my hot take: All these fighters talking about 'respect' and 'honor' pre-fight is just boring. Give me some genuine hatred and death threats, please. It sells way more PPVs than two dudes pretending they're best friends after trying to rearrange each other's faces. Bring back the real animosity, not this kumbaya nonsense. Who cares if they hug after? I want drama BEFORE. Change my mind. 🔥

I get where you're coming from, but don't you think the 'respect' makes the actual beefs feel more authentic when they happen? Like, anyone else noticed that the quiet killers like Alex Pereira or Islam have more aura than the guys screaming at pressers? Does the manufactured drama actually sell more for you, or do you prefer the cinematic "short story" vibe that Cage Culture puts out? What do you think about the balance between sport and spectacle?
