Watching all these clips of cars rolling away because someone "thought" it was in park makes me miss the old days. Remember when we had actual manual handbrakes you had to pull? You felt the mechanical connection and you knew that car wasn't going anywhere.

My hot take: these modern "e-brakes" and "auto-hold" buttons are actually making drivers more dangerous because they stop thinking about physics. People are becoming so detached from the mechanics of driving that they just jump out of the car without a second thought. Is it just me, or was car culture way better when you actually had to physically interact with the machine to keep it from rolling down a hill? We're trading basic driving skills for sensors and it's clearly not working
