Missing the days of genuine problem-solving stories
Does anyone else feel like the "art of the narrative" in social media has changed so much? I remember when interesting stories from around the world were about genuine ingenuity and actual skill. Now, it feels like every "interesting fix" is just someone making a mess and then "solving" it in the most convoluted way possible—like tiling a floor diagonally just to hide dirt. Is there a sociological reason why we’re more fascinated by these absurd, over-engineered solutions than just seeing someone use a vacuum? Have we traded real human interest for just being confused by fiction? I'd love to hear if anyone has examples of actual, old-school ingenuity that doesn't feel like it was staged for a reaction
