Public reactions to chaos: genuine or exaggerated?

I've been thinking a lot lately about how people react in intense or embarrassing public situations, especially in those short viral clips. Like when someone gets pranked, or there's a big surprise, or even those 'end of the world' type moments. Do you guys think most of those reactions we see are genuinely what someone would do, or is there an element of playing to the camera once they realize they're being filmed? Or maybe people just exaggerate for the 'story' of the moment? What's your take on it? Has anyone been in a situation like that and felt like they had to 'perform' a certain reaction?

It definitely feels different now compared to the earlier videos Alysha used to share. Remember when the stories felt a bit more like "hey, look what happened in my neighborhood" rather than these high-stakes "chaos in public" clips? Like that one old video with the simple prom proposal or the lady finding weird things while cleaning—those felt so much more raw and less "staged" for the algorithm. Nowadays, as soon as someone sees a phone pointed at them, the "performance" mode definitely kicks in. It’s wild to see how the channel evolved from everyday storytelling to these intense, almost cinematic moments of "intrusive thoughts." Makes you miss the simplicity of those first few shorts where the reactions felt 100% accidental!
