Okay, serious question for the football purists out there (and the rest of you who enjoy a good debate): Was Maradona's Hand of God peak genius or just plain cheating that got away with it?

Like, obviously it's legendary now, iconic even. But if VAR existed back then, it would have been instantly disallowed, right? Would it have changed football history for the better or worse? Part of me thinks the chaos and controversy is what makes the game great, but another part wonders if we're just romanticizing a blatant foul.

Thoughts? Asking for a friend who thinks modern football is too sterile with all the tech. 😂
