Short horror games are becoming low-effort "YouTube bait"
What do you guys think about the current state of indie horror? I feel like we're seeing way too many 10-20 minute games that rely purely on one weird gimmick—like a cursed vending machine or a creepy magpie—without any real depth or narrative. It feels like developers are just designing games specifically to be "reactable" for let's players instead of making something with actual substance. Does anyone else feel like the "experimental" tag is just an excuse for unfinished or lazy game design lately? Or am I just being too cynical?
