Gradient vs. Texture: Which is more effective for massive builds? 🏰
I’ve been working on a pretty large-scale project in my survival world lately—a massive fortress built into a mountain—and I’m hitting a bit of a wall. When you’re dealing with huge vertical surfaces, do you find that a smooth color gradient (like Deepslate transitioning up into Tuff and Stone) is more important than physical texturing? I feel like using stairs and walls for "depth" looks great up close, but from a distance, it can look like a cluttered mess if there isn't a solid color transition holding it together. What are your favorite block palettes for making artificial walls blend naturally into the terrain? I'm trying to avoid that "big grey box" look without making it look like I just threw a bucket of random blocks at the wall. Any tips on balancing scale with detail?
