Unpopular opinion, but I think the obsession with "explosive power" and "iron fists" is actually ruining the technical side of boxing for new people. Everyone wants to hit the heavy bag as hard as they can because it looks cool for social media, but their footwork is absolutely nonexistent. I’d honestly argue that 20 minutes of shadowboxing and dedicated footwork drills is worth more than two hours of mindless bag work. If you can't move, your "2x faster punches" don't mean anything because you'll never be in the right position to land them. Is the "power first" mentality just a shortcut that leads to bad habits, or am I being too harsh? Shadowboxing > Heavy Bag. Change my mind
